Templat ini digunakan untuk membuat {{taxobox}}, yaitu tabel yang menggambarkan klasifikasi biologis dari suatu spesies (taksonomi). Penggunaannya cukup sederhana, dan dapat dilihat di Wikipedia:Penggunaan kotak taksonomi. Untuk contoh penggunaannya, bisa dilihat di Kucing. Sebagian besar parameter yang ada merupakan pilihan, sehingga dapat dikosongkan jika tidak digunakan.
